Christopher Columbus should be viewed as a villain in history. He was not a hero he was a villain. He is praised to be someone great when he is not. He is the reason why so many natives died. He was cruel to them and did not care that they were dying by the hundreds. He only wanted the wealth that came from the land. He was not even the first to discover the Americas. His discoveries destroyed the cultures of the people who were already living there and wiped most of them out.
He harmed the societies that he interacted with. He not only brought deadly diseases that killed many natives, but he too killed many of them for selfish reasons. He was not trust worthy and often took credit for something that he did not discover. He destroyed the native peoples land. He also only wanted the gold and he killed the natives for not giving it to him.

Another impact caused by Christoher Columbus' journey was the transformation of the environment where he explored. The environment changed drastically because of the europeans. They used the natural resources and the raw materials that the land offered. They cut down trees to build houses and to export to Spain so they could be wealthy. They used all of the natural recourses that the land offered because that was the whole reason why they came to the Americas. They also cleared the land and dug it up so they could find the gold that was there. They build villages were they colonized so that took some of the nature that was there. Mainly though they cut down trees and dug up the land for its recourses to get the money.
The colony he established reflected much of European culture. The settlers for one were european. The language they spoke, the way they dress, the way they live reflected the culture of europeans. They looked different from the natives and they had things from europe in the Americas. Their weapons and technology were also europe and reflected their culture. One imprtant aspect that also reflected European culture was their religion.

Because he brougth back resources and items from the Americas , people wanted to get wealthy of of them and travled to the Americas and started to colonize. The new land also offered new opportunities and people moved to the Americas to start a new life. His voyages discovered new lands with riches and people wanted to be were the wealth was. People also started to colonize the Americas because people were needed to work and regulate the riches from the new land so people went on the voyages to the Americas and colonized it. PART TWO: CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS AND HIS RELATIONS WITH THE NATIVE GROUPS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Christopher Columbus' journey impacted the way of life that already existed in the Americas. His journey mainly impacted the native populations he had contact with. At first he offered riches to the natives and they lived in harmony. Then their greed to take over the land and its riches for Spain started to get in the way of the peace. The natives and europeans started to fight against each other for the land. Some of the natives were used as slaves that worked for the europeans. They were killed in brutal ways. They had no chance because the europeans had more adanced weapons. The natives were persecuted and the diseases brought by the europeans killed most of them. They were also driven out of their land by the europeans.
Another impact caused by Christoher Columbus' journey was the transformation of the environment where he explored. The environment changed drastically because of the europeans.
